Walking the Walk
In yesterday's pod, my dad spoke very emotionally about losing one of the most important people in his young life. The witnessing of someone passing from this plane to the next is common, but never easy, and it stays with us long after their last breath.
I saw a post on Reddit recently from a young man asking could he truly start his life over. At 25, he feels his life lacks purpose, and feels he offers nothing to society. I cannot emphasize the incorrectness of this statement.
We live for God, and Jesus, who died for us. We live for the elderly, those who have already passed before us, and for the children, even if we never pass our genes along for whatever reason, choice or not.
I strive to live each day honoring my grandparents and parents. So much about society pushes us to tend to forget the older generations, or to pit the youth against them. We should try daily to make those who came before proud. We should learn from their example, and if we disagree with the example they set, change the things we need to, redirecting our own paths to the opposite.
Good or bad, every interaction and memory shapes us and builds us to the people we become in our own journey. God made each of us for a reason. Live your life the way He wants and that purpose will emerge.
